The National Spring Agricultural Production Work Conference was held in Deyang City, Sichuan Province on March 23. Liu Guozhong, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Liu Guozhong pointed out that grasping agricultural production this year is of great significance and arduous tasks, and it is necessary to establish a guiding principle of "focusing on implementation" and a style of "focusing on practical work", so as to promote the implementation and effectiveness of various work tasks. We must strictly implement the same responsibilities of the Party and government for food security, strengthen policy support and guidance, comprehensively implement various measures to stabilize and increase production, and ensure that food production remains above 1.3 trillion kilograms. "We need to increase the planting of soybean oil crops, do a solid job in the pig and vegetable basket projects, accelerate the construction of a diversified food supply system based on local conditions, and improve the stable and safe supply level of other important agricultural products.". We should take the implementation of a new round of action to increase the production capacity of 100 billion kilograms of grain as an important starting point, focus on the two key issues of arable land and seeds, vigorously strengthen the storage of grain in the land and technology, accelerate the improvement of grain production capacity, and comprehensively consolidate the foundation of food security. We need to strengthen overall planning and coordination, comprehensively focus on various tasks related to agriculture, rural areas, and farmers, especially consolidate and expand the achievements of poverty alleviation, firmly hold the bottom line of not experiencing large-scale poverty reduction, and ensure that comprehensive promotion of rural revitalization continues to achieve practical results.
