The opening ceremony of the "Golden Dragon 2023" joint performance between China and Cambodia was held at a training base of the Cambodian Royal Army on the 23rd. Chen Mintian, the leader of the Chinese team and Deputy Chief of Staff of the Army in the Southern Theater, and Hong Manai, Deputy Commander in Chief and Army Commander of the Royal Cambodian Army, delivered speeches respectively. Officials and soldiers from China and Cambodia, military officials from various countries stationed in Cambodia, and observers from various countries in Southeast Asia attended the ceremony. The theme of this joint performance is "Major Event Security and Humanitarian Relief Operations", including three main activities: adaptive training, command exercises, and comprehensive exercises. The joint exercise takes the form of mixed formation, collaborative training, discussion and exchange, and carries out professional training on warning and containment, epidemic prevention and control, mine clearance and explosive disposal, focusing on improving the ability of the Chinese and Cambodian militaries to conduct major event security and joint counter-terrorism tasks. During the joint performance, the Chinese side will also carry out activities such as donating materials to villagers and students around the camp, conducting visits, and organizing cultural exchange activities such as football matches, tug-of-war and get-togethers, to further promote cultural integration between the two countries and enhance friendly friendship between the two countries. The "Golden Dragon" series of joint exercises is a routine military cooperation activity between the two militaries of China and Cambodia, aimed at consolidating and developing the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between China and Cambodia, increasing political mutual trust, and expanding military exchanges between the two countries.
