Assassination training has a glorious history in our army. The earliest use of assassination in our army can be traced back to the early days of the founding of the army. At that time, the Red Army had a small population, poor equipment, and difficult supplies. Assassination played an important role in the battle. Although bayonets are an important weapon for the Red Army in combat, until the 1930s, our army had not formed a standardized assassination action and training mechanism. During the Anti Japanese War, assassination techniques were well used in classic warfare methods such as underground warfare and sparrow warfare. With the development of training and military training campaigns, as well as the establishment of military academies, the entire army has not only carried out rifle assassination training, but also trained a large number of assassination coaches, and widely conducted stabbing competitions in various schools and combat gaps. In the early days of the founding of New China, an assassination training system with our army's characteristics was initially formed. In 1948, Su Chengxiang, a teacher at the Northeast Military and Political University, compiled the first assassination training textbook for our army, called "The People's Liberation Army Assassination", based on actual combat experience. "Jiefang Sting" not only draws on the advantages and disadvantages of "Sun Sting" and "Su Sting", but also integrates traditional Chinese martial arts movements, and has achieved good results after being promoted throughout the army. The emergence of "Jiefang Sting" marks the formation of regularization of our army's assassination training. In 1955, our army issued a new "Sports Order", incorporating the revised "Liberation Sting" into the order. In the mid-1960s, our military changed to a large scale domestic "56 type" rifle, creating material conditions for unified and standardized assassination training. Wood gun stabbing was also widely carried out throughout the military, and a set of standardized assassination actions were gradually formed. In the previous three military sports games and the first national sports games, assassination was listed as an official event. With the continuous development of weapons and equipment, white-blade warfare has significantly decreased, and the status and role of assassinations have continuously declined. In the early 1990s, assassination training gradually faded out of the training ground. The "Military Training Program" issued in 2009 reintroduced assassination into the curriculum of military community training. However, due to the constraints of venue, talent, equipment, and other conditions, the army mainly conducts fixed routine training in assassination exercises, while less training is conducted in assassination confrontation. In 2018, the new version of the Military Sports Training Outline once again put assassination on the training agenda, and the entire army's training course for key assassins was immediately held, providing an important opportunity for the development of assassination training. The current assassination training of our army and the assassination movements and routines of the 1970s are in a continuous line, which is the inheritance of tradition and is even more carried forward. Nowadays, many units of our army regard assassination as one of the important training subjects, and as an important measure to cultivate the fighting spirit, the whole army has opened a new chapter in assassination training. In the future battlefield, if you want to eliminate the enemy and protect yourself in close combat, assassination is still a very practical combat skill, and it is also one of the skills that soldiers must master.
