As a representative of Hezhe nationality, she has put forward more than 130 proposals since she took office in 2008. Intangible cultural heritage, cultural and tourism integration, ethnic minority education, talent training, rural revitalization... all reflect the most genuine aspirations of the Hezhen people. Hezhe nationality is one of the ethnic groups with a small population in China. It has only language and no characters. It faces many difficulties in cultural inheritance. Liu Lei also established a WeChat group composed of Hezhen intangible cultural heritage inheritors and old artists to transmit Hezhen culture through digital mobile means. "The cordial care of the General Secretary has brought together the hearts of our Hezhen compatriots and encouraged them to learn, spread and promote the national language and culture spontaneously," Liu Lei said. Many years of representative experience have made Liu Lei broaden her focus. "Previously, I mainly focused on the inheritance of national culture, but now I focus on helping local enterprises develop with national culture, driving the development of ethnic areas, and promoting the revitalization of rural areas."
