The Anatolian plate is connected to the Arabian plate in the east. Because the two plates move at different speeds, there are faults. Dolioni said that more than ten seconds after the earthquake, both plates were displaced in the horizontal direction, just like a part of Türkiye moved to the southwest relative to the Arabian plate. Doriani's analysis shows that the Anatolian plate has the trend of moving towards the southwest and has accumulated elastic energy for a long time after resistance. This displacement is the result of the sudden release of this energy. After obtaining satellite data, the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology of Italy can accurately calculate the displacement. At 4:17 am local time (9:17 am Beijing time) on the 6th, Türkiye's Kahlamamarash Province experienced a 7.7 magnitude earthquake, which was felt strongly in several surrounding provinces.
