A man released from prison in Hunan was sentenced by imitating the plot of the film and posing as a policeman for violent robbery. Recently, the People's Court of Xiangxiang City, Hunan Province, concluded a robbery case according to law. The defendant, Zhang, was sentenced to six years' imprisonment and fined 5000 yuan to recover his illegal gains. On December 15, 2017, Zhang was sentenced to five years and three months in prison for theft and fraud. On January 10, 2022, Zhang Mou bought a pair of handcuffs after he was released from prison, imitating the film plot, and wanted to obtain other people's money by impersonating the police. At about 2:00 a.m. on February 27, 2022, Zhang contacted the victim Liu who had been identified in advance and entered the house rented by Liu on the grounds of having sex with Liu. After entering the room, Zhang paid Liu 700 yuan for whoring. After Liu entered the bathroom, he pretended to be a policeman to catch whoring, asked Liu to hand over the money, and handcuffed Liu to the water pipe of the bathroom faucet with the handcuffs purchased in advance, so that he could not resist. After that, he searched everywhere for money but failed, so he grabbed a Huawei mobile phone belonging to Liu Mou and sold it to a mobile phone repair shop for 1550 yuan. After the trial, the court held that the defendant, Zhang Mou, took the property of others by violence in the process of pretending to be a policeman for the purpose of illegal possession, and his behavior constituted the crime of robbery, so the court made the above judgment. The defendant, Zhang, appealed against the judgment. Xiangtan Intermediate People's Court rejected the appeal and upheld the original judgment. (Xinhua News Agency)
