On the morning of January 17, Zheng Yanxiong, director of the Joint Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, visited Li Jiachao, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), at the Protocol House, and sent him New Year greetings. Li Jiachao once again welcomed Zheng Yanxiong as the director of the Central Government Liaison Office in Hong Kong and the National Security Affairs Adviser of the National Security Commission of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The two sides exchanged views on the current social situation in Hong Kong and how to promote the rule and prosperity of Hong Kong. Zheng Yanxiong said that he worked closely with Chief Executive Li Jiachao during his tenure as Director of the National Security Administration in Hong Kong. After serving as the director of the Joint Office of the CPC Central Committee, he will lead all his colleagues, as always, to further strengthen the regular communication with the Chief Executive and the SAR government, widely listen to the views of all sectors of Hong Kong society, and fully respect and fully support the Chief Executive and the SAR government in their law-based governance. During the exchange, it was agreed that Hong Kong was at a new stage from chaos to governance to governance and prosperity.
