A comprehensive and just settlement of the Palestinian question concerns regional peace and stability and international equity and justice. The peaceful coexistence of Palestine and Israel and the joint development of the Arab and Jewish peoples are in the long-term interests of both sides and the common expectation of the people of all countries. The international community should unswervingly adhere to the "two State solution", place the Palestinian issue at the top of the international agenda, and help the Palestinian people realize their dream of independent statehood at an early date. China supports the strengthening of the authority of the Palestinian National Authority, supports the strengthening of unity among Palestinian factions, and hopes that Palestine Israel peace talks will resume as soon as possible to push the Middle East peace process back on track. China will, as always, provide humanitarian and development assistance to Pakistan, support its capacity-building, and help Pakistan develop its economy and improve its people's livelihood. As a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council and a responsible major country, China will continue to work with the international community to make positive contributions to achieving lasting peace, universal security and common prosperity in the Middle East.
