In the autumn of 1941, the predecessor troops of the brigade were assigned to garrison the Huangyadong Arsenal in Licheng, Shanxi. In the face of enemies many times their own, officers and soldiers carried forward their brave and fearless fighting spirit and fought fiercely with the enemy for eight days and nights. In the battle, Cui Zhenfang, a commander in command who was less than 20 years old, defended the fortifications and killed dozens of enemies with grenades; Wen Desheng, the squad leader, killed the enemy with the last grenade...
