Five departments including the Ministry of Education: strengthening the infrastructure construction of vocational schools

On November 16, the reporter learned from the Ministry of Education that five departments, including the Ministry of Education, recently issued the Implementation Plan for the Project of Achieving the Standards for Running Vocational Schools, which requires strengthening the infrastructure construction of vocational schools. All regions should comprehensively check the infrastructure of vocational schools, and formulate a supplementary plan for school running conditions by category for schools to be retained. The plan is clear that all regions should coordinate regional vocational education resources, combine the needs of regional economic and social development, take the form of merger, group education, termination of education, optimize the layout of vocational schools, and reasonably determine the enrollment scale. In the input of educational resources, priority should be given to ensuring that the basic conditions for running vocational schools meet the standards. The schools with poor school running quality, social disapproval and serious substandard indicators shall be merged or terminated according to law. The plan proposes that through scientific planning and reasonable adjustment, we will continue to increase policy supply, further optimize the layout and structure of vocational schools, significantly improve the conditions for running schools, improve the overall level of teachers, and significantly enhance the quality and attractiveness of vocational education. The proportion of vocational schools in all provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps that meet all the key monitoring indicators for school running conditions will reach more than 80% by the end of 2023 and more than 90% by the end of 2025.
