On the afternoon of October 19, Yan Zhichan, Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central Government in Macao, was invited to attend the opening ceremony of the 2022/2023 judicial year of the Macao Special Administrative Region held at the Macao Cultural Center. He Yicheng, Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region, Wang Dong, Acting Special Envoy of the Foreign Office, Gao Kaixian, President of the Legislative Council, Cen Haohui, President of the Court of Final Appeal, Zhang Yongchun, Director of the Department of Administrative and Legal Affairs of the SAR Government, Ye Xunsheng, Procurator General, Liu Zhuohua, Chairman of the Independent Commission recommending judges, Hua Nianda, Chairman of the Council of the Lawyers' Association, and others attended the meeting. He Yicheng, Cen Haohui, Ye Xunsheng and Hua Nianda delivered speeches respectively. The courts and procuratorates of the Macao Special Administrative Region jointly hold the opening ceremony of the judicial year every October, marking the beginning of the new judicial year. At the opening ceremony, the courts and procuratorates of the Special Administrative Region respectively reviewed and summarized the trial and procuratorial work of the previous judicial year.
