The whole Party must be alert, and forging iron requires hard work. The infiltration and intervention of powerful groups have won the historical initiative of maintaining flesh and blood ties with the people and the people's heartfelt support, as well as the historical initiative of the whole Party to be highly united, to be in the forefront of the times, and to lead the people to achieve the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Managing the Party strictly in an all-round way is a distinctive theme of Party building in the new era. Our Party puts political construction first, takes adhering to the centralized and unified leadership of the Party Central Committee as the highest political principle, takes political life within the Party seriously, strengthens political supervision, and ensures that the Party's theories, lines, principles, policies, and decisions and arrangements of the Party Central Committee are implemented effectively. Our Party started from the formulation and implementation of the eight point rule of the Central Committee, corrected the "four winds" with the spirit of nailing nails to build a new trend, stopped some unhealthy tendencies that had not stopped for a long time, corrected some persistent maladies that had not been eliminated for many years, and laid a solid political foundation for the Party's long-term governance. Our Party has strengthened discipline building in an all-round way, enforced strict political discipline and rules, and adhered to the principle of strictness. Our Party punishes corruption with a zero tolerance attitude, promotes corruption as a whole, resolutely investigates and deals with corruption cases involving political and economic issues, and resolutely punishes corruption around the masses. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the national discipline inspection and supervision authorities have filed more than 4.648 million cases, of which 553 were in charge of the investigation, more than 25000 were punished at the level of departments and bureaus, and more than 182000 were punished at the level of counties and offices. The fight against corruption won an overwhelming victory and was consolidated in all respects.
