Over the past decade, blue sky and white clouds, clear water and green banks have become a natural landscape everywhere in Guangdong. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Guangdong has fully implemented the concept that green water and green mountains are golden mountains and silver mountains. Historic and turning changes have taken place in the province's ecological environment protection. The good ecological environment has significantly enhanced the people's sense of gain, happiness and security. People are not old when they walk all over the green mountains. On a new journey, Guangdong will continue to adhere to the path of ecological priority and green development, systematically promote ecological construction and protection, constantly improve the ability to govern the ecological environment, and accelerate the creation of a beautiful Guangdong model of harmonious coexistence between man and nature. A few days ago, good news came from Nanling National Nature Reserve: for the first time, we recorded the activities of the "national butterfly" - the golden beaked butterfly. As the only butterfly among the national first-class protected wild animals, the whereabouts of Papilio aureolata are extremely mysterious. This appearance proves that the ecology of Nanling is continuing to improve and the biodiversity is further enriched. Thanks to Guangdong's long-standing efforts to promote ecological protection, in recent years, many rare species such as Chinese pangolin, black faced spoonbill and spoon billed snipe have repeatedly appeared in urban and rural areas of Guangdong. Now, 11 cities in the province have successfully established national forest cities. The ecological picture of skyscrapers and towering trees growing together and "green forests" and "steel forests" living together is being drawn all over the province. In particular, in recent years, Guangdong has given priority to ecological protection in the implementation of major national strategies such as the construction of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area and the construction of the "one core, one belt and one zone". In 2021, the Pearl River Delta National Forest Urban Agglomeration will be basically completed. It will retain 51.84% of the forest coverage in China's most prosperous economy and the highest urbanization rate, a vivid portrayal of Guangdong's coordinated promotion of high-quality economic development and high-level protection of the ecological environment. At present, the Pearl River Delta has preliminarily built a forest city cluster that integrates forest and city, depends on forest and water, has beautiful ecology, is green and livable, and people and nature live in harmony, presenting the Lingnan scenery of "the river flows around the village, the banyan trees are green, and the pond fish is litchi red". In the future, Guangdong will put the Pearl River Delta National Forest Urban Agglomeration on a larger scale natural landscape ecosystem to plan as a whole, and strive to build an international first-class bay area and world-class forest urban agglomeration. At present, the province takes the Pearl River Delta region as the leader, leading the province to start building a number of key ecological projects that are jointly constructed and interconnected, and coordinating the management of the system of mountains, rivers, forests, fields, lakes and grasses. With the overall implementation of the forest leader system, Guangdong initiated the "double chief" to promote the implementation of the forest leader system, effectively improved the "small horse pulling big cart" of forestry work, and more effectively protected forest resources. There are 96733 forest leaders at all levels in the province, who form "one leader and two members" with forest rangers and supervisors, and strictly prevent the occurrence of "three major" problems involving forests by going deep into the responsible areas of forest leaders to carry out regular forest patrol supervision.
