Tan Kefei: At 12:52 on September 5, a magnitude 6.8 earthquake hit Luding County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, affecting about 15000 square kilometers in 12 counties. After the disaster, President Xi attached great importance to it and gave important instructions, demanding that saving lives be the primary task and that all efforts be made to rescue the victims. The Joint Operations Command Center of the Central Military Commission and the Western Warfare Zone acted on orders, and the emergency response mechanism was launched according to the case. The PLA and the Armed Police immediately dispatched for rescue.
