An exclusive interview with Xinhua News Agency | Grace Guiang, an international student in China: China's experience of studying abroad has changed my future life path

There is no limit to learning. All the students will choose their own way to study. Climb high and travel far, pursue the future in reality and dreams, and grow up in frustration and perseverance. No matter success or failure, the achievement is his own youth without regret, and the harvest is the life experience of "seeing all the mountains". The Chinese culture is broad, profound, and colorful. With the rapid development of China, cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries have become increasingly frequent. Chinese traditional culture has attracted the attention of many foreign friends, prompting more and more foreign students to choose to study in China. Grace Guiang (Chinese name: Hong Xiuping), 33, from the Philippines, is currently a doctoral student in the School of International Relations of Jinan University and an intern reporter of the News Agency International News Center. Grace Guiang has been connected with China since childhood - she began to learn Chinese when she was five years old. When she was 16 years old, she first came to China to exchange and study abroad, further increasing her understanding of Chinese history, language and culture. After the first exchange and study, she buried a "seed" in her heart - she must come to China to study when she grows up. Fourteen years later, at the age of 30, she came to China to study as a doctoral student. Once again, she crossed the border of the motherland and came to China over mountains and seas. She could not help but be shocked by the rapid development of China. At the same time, she was full of hope to start a study trip in a foreign country. (Grace Guiang attended the fifth China ASEAN Think Tank Dialogue and the seminar on the 15th anniversary of the establishment of China ASEAN strategic partnership in 2018) At the age of 5, China and the Philippines are 3096 kilometers away from the Chinese language. Although the two countries are far apart, the friendship between the two peoples has a long history. China and the Philippines have a lot in common, such as similar culture, eating habits, and being in the Asia Pacific region. The cultural exchanges between the two countries have enabled many Filipino students to further deepen their understanding of Chinese culture. In 1994, five year old Grace Guiang had to go to primary school in advance because her parents were busy with their work, and because she was not old enough, she could only go to private schools. It may be that Grace Guiang was destined to become attached to China. Finally, Grace Guiang entered a local Chinese school, the Timber City Academy, which opened her 12 years of Chinese learning. The Chinese culture is broad and profound, and has a long history. Learning Chinese is a tough battle for overseas children. But when asked, "Will it be difficult to learn Chinese?" Her answer was unexpected - "Because I like China and its history and culture, it is not difficult to learn Chinese, and I do not resist learning Chinese." (Picture of Grace Guiang with her primary school teacher and father) After two years of study in a Chinese American school, Grace Guiang's parents proposed that she transfer to the local public school. "But I like learning Chinese and want to continue to learn it, so I refused to transfer." Grace Guian
