On September 1, a video conference on deepening cooperation between Guangdong and Hong Kong was held. The two places discussed the deepening of cooperation between Guangdong and Hong Kong through video link, and jointly planned to promote the construction of the Greater Bay area between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao. Li Jiachao, chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Wang Weizhong, deputy secretary of the provincial Party committee and governor, Meng Fanli, deputy secretary of the provincial Party committee and Secretary of the Shenzhen Municipal Party committee, attended the meeting. On behalf of the provincial Party committee and the provincial government, Li Xi thanked Hong Kong for its long-term strong support for Guangdong's work. We will continue to deepen cooperation with Hong Kong, join hands with Hong Kong and Macao to promote the construction of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay area, fully support Hong Kong in maintaining long-term prosperity and stability, better integrating into the overall situation of national development, and make Guangdong's efforts and contributions to promoting the practice of "one country, two systems". First, deepen the "soft and hard connectivity" between Guangdong and Hong Kong. We will strengthen planning, rules and mechanisms, deepen infrastructure connectivity, and make the flow of people, logistics, capital and information between the two places smoother. Second, deepen cooperation in science and technology industries. We will strengthen the exchange and sharing of scientific and technological resources, work together to build innovation platforms and tackle key core technologies, and rely on platforms such as the Hetao Shenzhen Hong Kong scientific and technological innovation cooperation zone and the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area high-level talent highland to jointly promote the construction of the international scientific and technological innovation center and the comprehensive national science center in the Greater Bay area, so as to create a more internationally competitive modern industrial system. Sixth, further improve the exchange and cooperation mechanism. We will give full play to the role of the special classes for Guangdong Hong Kong cooperation, improve and optimize the cooperation mechanisms between Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Shenzhen Hong Kong, and promote the in-depth development of Guangdong Hong Kong cooperation. On behalf of the SAR government, Li Jiachao thanked Guangdong Province, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and other cities for their support and concern for the Hong Kong SAR.
