On July 7 local time, State Councilor and foreign minister Wangyi exchanged views with Indian Foreign Minister sujiesheng on the Ukrainian issue during the G20 foreign ministers' meeting in Bali. Wangyi elaborated on China's three concerns about the current situation in Ukraine. First, we should oppose taking the opportunity to incite the Cold War mentality, exaggerate the opposition of the camp, and create a "new cold war". In the face of complex and severe challenges, the world attaches importance to unity, not division, and needs dialogue, not confrontation. China will continue to stand firmly on the right side of history and on the side of promoting peace and talks. Second, it opposes the practice of double standards and undermines China's sovereignty and territorial integrity. Some countries emphasize the principle of sovereignty on the Ukrainian issue, but constantly challenge China's sovereignty and the one China principle on the Taiwan issue, and even deliberately create tension in the Taiwan Strait. This is obviously a naked double standard. China rejects any attempt to compare the Ukrainian crisis with the Taiwan issue and will firmly defend its core interests. Third, oppose harming the legitimate development rights and interests of other countries. Some countries use the Ukrainian crisis as an excuse to impose indiscriminate unilateral sanctions on China and other countries, which is neither legitimate nor legal, undermining the normal exchanges between countries, violating the prevailing rules of international trade, and also leading to the complexity and expansion of the Ukrainian crisis.
