Read the history of urban construction in the Museum

Half are plane hand-painted sketches and half are hand-made wooden models. On the exhibition wall of the Suzhou urban construction Museum, the landmark Ruiguang tower of the ancient city was "dissected", and the beautiful Dougong, overhanging cornices, and dignified and beautiful kettle door were carefully restored, so that the internal structure of this seven level and eight sided Pavilion style ancient tower was clearly presented to the audience. Recently, Suzhou urban construction Museum opened, which is one of the few professional museums with the theme of "urban construction" in China. With the window of Suzhou as the core element, the museum has built a "time tunnel" through ancient and modern times, connecting exhibition halls such as "a thousand years of urban history", "modern Suzhou City", "urban growth", "urban living room" and "the city of 100 museums". In the prologue hall, a gray "city" character is composed of architectural models on the crisscross map of Pingjiang River, which is the main visual symbol of Suzhou urban construction Museum. The museum is located in Pingjiang historical and Cultural District, Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, covering an area of about 1600 square meters. It is rebuilt from the pan house in front of weidaoguan, a national key cultural relics protection unit. The map of Pingjiang mansion (today's Suzhou) in the Southern Song Dynasty "Pingjiang map" is collected in the Suzhou stele Museum. It is the largest and most complete existing ancient stele city map in China, reflecting the double chessboard pattern of parallel land and water and adjacent rivers and streets in Suzhou. Pingjiang road is a traditional block that inherits this feature. The alleys adjacent to Pingjiang road are dotted with the former residences of many celebrities. The pan house of the pan Linzhao family of Huizhou merchants was built in the 52nd year of Qianlong's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1787). It is large-scale and richly decorated. Today, this mansion of wealthy businessmen in the Qing Dynasty has turned into a museum, reflecting the concept of "let the ancient city innovate and develop in protection". The hall of "Chengji Qianzai" shows five miniature models, which are a three-dimensional picture composed of Helu City, which was first built in the spring and Autumn period, Ruiguang tower in the Three Kingdoms period, Baodai bridge in the Tang Dynasty, Confucian temple in the Northern Song Dynasty and Panmen in the Yuan Dynasty. Five local chronicles, including the record of Wu land, the annals of Wu County, 19 electronic maps, including the three horizontal and four straight map of the river in Su County and the map of the city of Suzhou, which left these ancient architectural marks, describe the long history of urban construction in Suzhou. This year marks the 40th anniversary of Suzhou being rated as a national historical and cultural city. The "modern Suzhou City" hall has reviewed the urban changes of nearly half a century with rich photos and documents, and a yellowing document has witnessed the establishment of the protection route of the ancient city. In 1986, the first edition of Suzhou's urban master plan was approved by the State Council, which established the basic policy of "protecting the style of the ancient city and actively building a modern new area". The 76 meter high North Temple tower guards the skyline of the ancient city. Outside the ancient city, 58 meter high development buildings, 302 meter high Oriental gate and 450 meter high international financial center have been built one after another. In the "urban growth" hall, the crystal sand table model connects the tallest buildings in Suzhou in different periods with a time axis, showing the constantly refreshing height of the city. The new media interactive device in the exhibition hall allows the audience to immerse themselves in the vitality of contemporary Suzhou urban construction. There is a row of yellow measuring instruments on the exhibition wall. Through the eyepiece in the black cylinder, you can see the photos of bridges, roads, rail transit and other urban infrastructure. Press the "urban science and education" button, and the pictures of landmark buildings in the field of science and education, such as Suzhou Museum, Suzhou culture and Art Center, and Binglin Library of Suzhou University, will be broadcast frame by frame. See a museum and see a hundred museums, explore a hundred museums and know a city. In the hall of "city of 100 museums", a dynamic "Suzhou City construction map" is full of three walls, and more than 100 museums, large and small, are scattered on the map. When the palm is close to the wall, the Guofeng illustration will become a three-dimensional animation with 360 degree rotation. Click on the geometric buildings with pink walls and black tiles on the map, and the new Suzhou Museum, designed by architect I.M. Pei, rises from the ground; Click on 10 box shaped buildings that are similar to cubes, and the suboxi Pavilion, which opened in September last year, has been capped. Here, the audience can "wander" through the hundred pavilions and gardens in Suzhou and the former residences of celebrities to have a panoramic view of the overall landscape of the city. Sun min, director of the office of Suzhou Municipal Bureau of housing and urban rural development, said that the design of Suzhou urban construction Museum fully reflects the concept of "people build cities, people build cities, and people serve the people", and also reflects the ingenuity of urban builders, which plays a positive role in promoting the protection of ancient cities, urban renewal, and the activation and utilization of ancient buildings and old houses in Suzhou at present.
