Midsummer is approaching. Has your heart issued a "high temperature warning"?

2022-06-24

With the arrival of the summer solstice, the temperature rises gradually. Due to the accelerated metabolic rate of the human body, people often feel weak, tired, chest tightness, etc., especially old friends. But in such a case, it is likely that the heart issued a "high temperature warning", indicating that atrial fibrillation is coming. Recently, more and more patients are going to visit Professor Liu Xu of the Chest Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University. There is a strange phenomenon: elderly friends account for the majority of patients, In this regard, Professor Liu Xu answered: "every summer, when the temperature rises, more and more elderly people will feel uncomfortable with their heart, shortness of breath, fatigue and other phenomena. In fact, the reason behind this is what we often call atrial fibrillation, also known as atrial fibrillation." Atrial fibrillation refers to irregular atrial fibrillation, which leads to abnormal rhythm and frequency of the whole heart beat. The data show that the atrial rate of patients with atrial fibrillation can reach an amazing 350-600 beats / minute (60-100 beats / minute under normal circumstances), so the heart of patients with atrial fibrillation has been in a state of overload. When summer comes, the metabolic rate of the human body increases, and the heart, as the "engine" of the human body, needs to provide more energy. For patients with atrial fibrillation, the "engine" that is already speeding needs to increase its horsepower, and the heart load will further increase, so there will be discomfort. Therefore, whenever a high temperature strikes, the trembling heart will send you a "high temperature warning" to remind you of the existence of atrial fibrillation. The "high temperature warning" of the heart just suggests that people should pay more attention to the great harm of atrial fibrillation. With the aging, according to incomplete statistics, the prevalence of atrial fibrillation is 1%, which means that nearly 14million people in China have a time bomb on their hearts. Why atrial fibrillation is compared to a time bomb is precisely because of its great harm. Firstly, thrombus is the most serious complication of atrial fibrillation: atrial systolic function is lost during atrial fibrillation, and blood stasis in the atrium forms thrombus. Thrombus shedding can spread to all parts of the body with the blood, causing renal, liver, intestinal and other arterial embolism. More serious are cerebral embolism (i.e. stroke, hemiplegia) and limb arterial embolism (even amputation in severe cases); Secondly, patients with atrial fibrillation have irregular heartbeat for a long time, which leads to arrhythmia cardiomyopathy and cardiac insufficiency; On the other hand, the ejection capacity of the heart is reduced by 30% due to the uncoordinated contraction between atrium and ventricle. Make the patients with cardiac insufficiency worse, even heart failure; Finally, many studies have shown that atrial fibrillation is a risk factor for increased mortality. Without other cardiovascular diseases, atrial fibrillation can double the mortality. The mortality of patients with AF was 2.2 times higher in men and 1.8 times higher in women than those without AF. So how to treat such diseases as atrial fibrillation? Long term clinical practice has proved that radiofrequency catheter ablation can help us solve the pain when drug treatment can not cure atrial fibrillation. When talking about the principle of radiofrequency ablation for the treatment of atrial fibrillation, we should also start from the cause of atrial fibrillation: the normal heart has a complete circuit system, each part of the heart is controlled by unified instructions, and current conduction is carried out regularly to maintain the rhythmic beating of the heart. Patients with atrial fibrillation are not. Some parts of their heart produce abnormal electrical signals, which makes the heart lose unified control and jump randomly. Radiofrequency catheter ablation belongs to minimally invasive interventional surgery. Through catheter ablation, abnormal discharge is eliminated, so that normal current conduction regains control of the heart, so as to restore the normal rhythm of the heart. Finally, Professor Liu Xu stressed that once atrial fibrillation occurs, the principle of early diagnosis and treatment must be followed. The longer the onset of atrial fibrillation, the greater the harm the patient will suffer. It is midsummer. If your heart sends out a "high temperature warning" due to atrial fibrillation, please go to the hospital immediately to eliminate the hidden dangers as soon as possible. (outlook new era)
