The construction of the park was started in 2020 and officially opened to the public on November 20, 2021 free of charge. "The demonstration park relies on the 10000 mu high-quality Echinacea forest, delimits the 8800 Mu Echinacea large-diameter timber reserve base, integrates the four forest resources of mountain, water, forest and medicine, and builds the economic demonstration park of medicinal materials under the forest and the natural education demonstration zone, which has a positive impact on promoting the forestry reform and development in northern Guangdong." The relevant person in charge of the forest farm said. It is understood that Guangdong officially launched the construction of the provincial forest ecological comprehensive demonstration park project in 2019. In combination with the opportunity of the reform and development of state-owned forest farms, Guangdong fully tapped the development potential of state-owned forest farms, forest parks, forestry research institutes, etc., highlighted the characteristics of resources, and built a demonstration park integrating forest tourism, forest health, natural education, science and technology demonstration, and forest economy with high standards. By 2021, the province has identified three batches of 30 Guangdong provincial forest ecological comprehensive demonstration parks, of which 20 demonstration parks have been completed and open to the public. According to statistics, since 2019, the provincial, municipal and county (District) governments have invested a total of 456million yuan to build a comprehensive forest ecological demonstration park in Guangdong Province.
