Both China and Guyana are developing countries and share the same or similar positions on major international and regional issues. Li Zhanshu said that China and Caribbean countries are good friends and partners for common development. This year also marks the 50th anniversary of the opening of diplomatic relations between China and Canada. China is willing to work with Caribbean countries, including Guyana, to promote the continuous development of China Canada comprehensive cooperative partnership. Li Zhanshu stressed that the National People's Congress of China is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Guyana's national assembly to promote the stability and long-term development of the traditional friendly relations between the two countries. The two sides can maintain high-level exchanges and actively carry out exchanges and mutual learning among counterpart committees, NPC deputies and parliamentarians; Continuously improve relevant legal documents, optimize the business environment, and provide legal guarantee for bilateral cooperation; Strengthen coordination on multilateral occasions such as the inter Parliamentary Union and the Latin American Parliament, and safeguard the common interests of developing countries.
