Scientific feeding helps preschool children grow up healthily

2022-06-08

On the occasion of the children's day this year, the Chinese Nutrition Society released the newly revised feeding and dietary guidelines for Chinese infants and preschool children. The guidelines released this time include three feeding and dietary guidelines for children of different ages, including the Chinese breastfeeding guidelines for infants aged 0-6 months, the Chinese breastfeeding guidelines for infants aged 7-24 months, and the dietary guidelines for preschool children in China The key recommended diagrams for breast feeding of 0-6 month old infants in China, the feeding and dietary pagoda for 7-24 month old infants in China and the balanced diet pagoda for preschool children in China drawn by applying these guidelines have provided professional guidance and technical support for family scientific parenting. The all media reporter of China Women's daily learned from the guide press conference that a large amount of scientific evidence shows that early life is a window of opportunity for health in the whole life cycle. The period from birth to two years of age is the core period of the 1000 day critical period in the early life. Scientific feeding and good nutrition is an important guarantee for children's short-term and long-term health in infancy and even in the subsequent preschool stage. Professor wangzhixu, chairman of the maternal and child nutrition branch of the Chinese Nutrition Society and professor of the school of public health of Nanjing Medical University, Professor shengxiaoyang, vice chairman of the maternal and child nutrition branch of the Chinese Nutrition Society and chief physician of the Xinhua Hospital Affiliated to the Medical College of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Professor Zeng Guo, vice chairman of the maternal and child nutrition branch of the Chinese Nutrition Society and professor of the West China School of public health of Sichuan University, respectively made specific interpretations of the guidelines for the three age groups. Infants aged 0-6 months should be exclusively breast fed. Infants in this age group are entering the first peak of growth and development in their lives, and their needs for energy and nutrients are relatively higher than those in any other period. However, their gastrointestinal tract, liver and kidney functions are not mature and their functions are not perfect. Breast milk can not only provide high-quality, comprehensive, sufficient and structurally appropriate nutrients, but also perfectly adapt to their immature digestive capacity and promote their organ development and functional maturity, It does not increase the burden on the kidneys, and the rich nutrients and active substances in breast milk are a complex system that can provide comprehensive care and support for infants. According to the feeding needs and possible problems of infants within 6 months of age in China, the guidelines put forward six guidelines: 1 Breast milk is the best food for infants, and they should be exclusively breast fed within 6 months of age. 2. open the milk within 1 hour after birth, and pay attention to sucking the mother's nipple as soon as possible. 3. conform to feeding and establish a good life rule. 4. supplement vitamin D appropriately, and breast-feeding does not require calcium supplementation. 5. any idea or action to shake breast-feeding must be consulted with doctors or other professionals, and decisions must be made with their help. 6. regularly monitor the physical indicators of infants to maintain healthy growth. Infants aged 7-24 months should add complementary food in a timely and reasonable manner. For children in this age group, breast milk is still an important source of nutrition, but breast-feeding alone can no longer fully meet their needs for energy and nutrients. Other nutritious foods must be introduced. At this stage, the development of infants' digestive system, immune system, perception and cognitive behavior ability all need to experience various foods through contact, feeling and trying, gradually adapt to and tolerate various foods, and change from passive feeding to autonomous eating. This process starts at 7 months and ends at 24 months. For infants aged 7-24 months, the guidelines have formulated six guidelines: 1 Continue to breastfeed. Supplementary food must be added from the age of 6 months, starting from the muddy food rich in iron. 2. timely introduce diversified foods and pay attention to animal foods, including allergic foods. 3. add less sugar and salt as far as possible to keep the original taste of the food and proper grease. 4. promote responsive feeding and encourage but not force eating. 5. pay attention to food hygiene and food safety. 6. regularly monitor physical indicators to pursue healthy growth. Children aged 2-5 should develop healthy eating habits. The dietary guidelines for Chinese preschool children released this time is an additional supplement to the "eight balanced dietary guidelines of the dietary guidelines for Chinese residents (2022)". Based on the physiological characteristics, nutritional needs and dietary habits of children aged 2-5, and in combination with their dietary nutrition and dietary behavior status, the guidelines put forward five additional core recommendations: 1. actively participate in food selection and production, and improve nutritional literacy. 2. have a good breakfast, choose snacks reasonably, and cultivate healthy eating behavior. 3. drink milk every day, drink plenty of water, do not drink sugary drinks, and do not drink alcohol. 4. more outdoor activities, less video time, more than 60 minutes of medium and high-intensity physical activities every day. 5. regularly monitor physical development to maintain proper weight growth.
