The 16th academician conference of the Chinese Academy of engineering was held in Beijing on the 30th, and the award ceremony of the 14th Guanghua Engineering Science and technology award was held at the opening ceremony of the conference. Academician zhugaofeng, an outstanding communication technology and management expert in China, won the achievement award of Guanghua Engineering Science and technology award, and 39 scientists including wangyuming, Professor of Mechanical Engineering Department of Tsinghua University and wuweiren, chief designer of China lunar exploration project, won the Guanghua Engineering Science and technology award. Zhugaofeng has been engaged in Telecommunication Research for a long time, and has participated in and made important contributions to the overall design and development of several communication carrier transmission systems. During his tenure as a leader of the Chinese Academy of engineering, he made important contributions to the Chinese Academy of Engineering in consolidating the ranks of academicians, expanding social and international influence, and laid a solid foundation for the development and growth of the Chinese Academy of engineering. It aims to reward Chinese engineers and scientists who have made important contributions in the field of Engineering Science and technology and management, and encourage their enthusiasm and creativity in Engineering Science and technology research, development and application. Guanghua Engineering Science and technology award is awarded every two years. Since the first award in 1996, more than 300 Engineering Science and technology experts and one group in different engineering disciplines have won awards successively. The opening ceremony of the conference was held in Beijing with a main venue and 30 sub venues in 27 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government) including Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Hubei, and three cities specifically designated in the state plan, namely, Dalian, Qingdao and Shenzhen.
