The official units include the "Crouching Tiger" unit focusing on new international directors, the "hidden dragon" unit exploring new Chinese directors, the "Premiere" unit showcasing annual important commercial films, masterpieces, selected films of major international film festivals or films worthy of attention, and the "review" unit planning and showcasing classic works of film history with unique perspective and academic value around special themes, And the "starting from Shanxi" unit aimed at promoting the development of Shanxi film industry. Applicants can log in to the official website of Pingyao International Film Exhibition to enter the registration channel. After paying 350 yuan or 60 US dollars, they can submit the film samples to the organizing committee. For Chinese films produced at medium and small cost, the applicant can choose to apply for exemption from the registration fee when filling in the registration form. After the examination and approval of the organizing committee, there is no need to pay the registration fee.
