The two sides exchanged views on the Ukrainian issue. Boehner said that France has always adhered to an independent foreign policy and will not fall into the logic of group politics. France has always been committed to creating and maintaining peace and is communicating with all parties, including Russia, on major issues such as Ukraine's neutrality and access to security guarantees. France attaches great importance to China's views on the current situation and is willing to work with China to promote peace talks, achieve a ceasefire and resolve the crisis. We look forward to an early and unremitting cease-fire and the resumption of peace in our own way. At the same time, we believe that all parties should create the necessary environment and conditions for promoting peace talks, and should act as a "booster" for persuading peace and promoting talks, rather than a "blower" for fanning the flames. We should not shout for a ceasefire and stop the war while constantly transporting a large number of advanced weapons and equipment, causing further escalation of the war; We should not claim to support dialogue and peace talks while imposing unilateral sanctions without a bottom line to stimulate further intensification of contradictions. Wang Yi said that in the final analysis, the Ukrainian issue stems from the imbalance of European security. We must rebuild a balanced, effective and sustainable European security framework in line with the principle of indivisibility of security, so as to truly achieve long-term stability in Europe. Wang Yi said that China supports France in adhering to European Strategic Autonomy and taking the fate of Europe into the hands of Europeans themselves. We appreciate that France does not agree with the group's political logic. At the same time, we believe that the Cold War mentality should not be allowed to return. Mankind has entered the 21st century, and the interests of all countries are intertwined and interdependent. China is willing to strengthen strategic cooperation with France and jointly build a community with a shared future for mankind. Both sides are deeply worried about the negative impact of the spillover of the crisis in Ukraine. Boehner introduced the French initiative on responding to the global food security crisis and expressed the hope to strengthen bilateral coordination in multilateral mechanisms such as the G20 and the FAO. Wang Yi expressed that the international community should form a joint force and make a concerted voice to jointly deal with the global food shortage and the possible humanitarian crisis caused by it.
