Chen Xunhu, 45, from Wanning, Hainan, is one of the sponsors of Haikou Haiyan family support center for people with mental disabilities. In 2008, Chen Xingrong, Chen Xunhu's son, who was almost 2 years old, was diagnosed with severe autism. In order to take care of his son, he quit his job, took his son around the country for rehabilitation treatment, and read a large number of books related to autism. In 2012, in order to improve children's vital capacity, Chen Xunhu taught himself and obtained the certificate of social sports instructor, formulated "personalized" swimming training projects and plans for his son Chen Xingrong, and even put his son on the podium of the swimming competition of the 11th National Paralympic Games and the 8th Special Olympics. Chen Xunhu also led his son to work as a volunteer in the community. He asked his son to help sort out the goods in the supermarket and help the guests clean up the dishes in the restaurant... Chen Xingrong gradually mastered some life skills and gradually integrated into the society. Chen Xunhu hopes that Chen Xingrong can find a suitable job in the future and support himself. In recent years, Chen Xunhu has been invited to hold more than 60 public welfare lectures in many places across the country to bring hope and strength to more autistic families by sharing autistic education ideas and methods.
