The first phase of the central government's assistance to Hong Kong's anti epidemic medical facilities was fully completed

The Yuen Long community isolation facility assisted by the central government was delivered to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government for use on the afternoon of the 24th, marking that the six shelters assisted by the central government in Hong Kong have been completed and put into service. The shelter at Tam Mei in Yuen Long is the Sixth Central Hong Kong assistance shelter project completed this year. It began formal operation after being delivered to the SAR Government on the same day. The chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Mrs Carrie Lam, and deputy director of the Hong Kong Central Liaison Office, Mr Tan Tieniu, attended the handover ceremony. Despite the light rain, the atmosphere of the handover ceremony was warm. Banners with the words "the central government's assistance to Hong Kong and the fight against the epidemic" were hung inside and outside the venue. On the background board were pictures of the construction participants, some sweating, some in the hot sun, and some in the stars and the moon. On the lintel of the room in the shelter, there are slogans such as "time is life, race against time to fight the epidemic", "grasp the progress and rush to guard against the epidemic situation in Hong Kong", "you and me at the foot of lion mountain" and so on. The feelings of the builders are vividly on the paper. It is reported that the construction of Yuen Long shelter began on February 22 and lasted 29 days. All on-site construction was completed on March 22. The shelter can provide more than 2300 isolation rooms and more than 9400 isolation beds. The shelter is composed of modular box houses. Each room is equipped with basic furniture and bedding, air conditioner, smoke detector, fire extinguisher and other facilities. The project covers an area of about 100000 square meters and a construction area of about 50000 square meters. At present, all the six prescription cabins built by the central government in the first phase have been delivered, providing a total of about 20000 beds. Among them, the Tsing Yi shelter started on February 22, was officially completed on February 28, and was first delivered for use on March 1. Subsequently, in less than a month, Xintian, Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge, Hong Kong port, Fanling, Hongshui bridge and other projects were successively put into service, greatly alleviating the pressure on Hong Kong's medical system and providing strong support for the fight against the epidemic. At the ceremony, Yan Jianguo, chairman of the construction party CSCEC International Group Co., Ltd., said in a speech that the company took this project as the number one project, mobilized all resources and forces, and built a boat of life at the speed of China. I would like to thank all departments of the central government, the SAR government and the Central Liaison Office for their decision-making, deployment and overall coordination, as well as all workers for their tenacious efforts and the full support of all sectors of Hong Kong society. Next, the company will quickly promote the construction of two other permanent isolation treatment facilities, make every effort to do a good job in the maintenance guarantee and property services of the delivered projects, and cooperate with the SAR government to implement the central government's care for Hong Kong citizens. On behalf of the SAR government and all citizens, Mrs Lam expressed her heartfelt thanks to every worker of the construction team. She said that at the critical moment when the fifth wave of the epidemic hit Hong Kong, the SAR government asked the central government for assistance. The central government responded to all requests and gave full support. The construction of six facilities was completed in less than one month. The scale and speed of the construction industry in Hong Kong can be called a pioneering undertaking in Hong Kong and will go down in history. The first phase of the central government's assistance to the construction of anti epidemic medical facilities in Hong Kong has been fully completed, which not only provides the foundation for Hong Kong to deal with the epidemic, but also marks the phased achievements of Hong Kong's anti epidemic. It is reported that Yuen Long shelter is the project with the largest area, the most complex geological conditions and the largest amount of foundation treatment works among the six community isolation facilities assisted by the central government. Its concrete pouring volume is equivalent to a medium-sized real estate project in Hong Kong. Although it is positioned as a temporary community isolation facility, the design of drinking water pipeline, sewage system and electric wire pipeline of the project are planned and implemented in accordance with the standards of municipal permanent works.
