Through careful observation, he found that the leg of the baby elephant was clamped by a hunting clip, and the wound had festered. Yan Hanlu immediately reported to the company's leaders. After expert observation, the injured baby elephant must be treated immediately. After asking the relevant departments, a rescue team of more than 100 people entered the wild elephant valley that night, and yanhanlu, the most familiar terrain, became the main force of the rescue team. In order to separate the little elephant from the elephant group, Yan Hanlu proposed to expel the elephant group with the sound of semi-automatic rifle in the hands of the forest police. Under his leadership, a small team of armed police soldiers adopted a circuitous and gradual strategy, and finally isolated the little elephant for treatment in more than three hours. Today, the Asian elephant named Ranran has grown up healthily and has given birth to a baby elephant and promoted to mother. Among the Asian wild elephant rescue operations participated in, yanhanlu was most impressed by the rescue operation for the wild elephant "Kun VI". At about 5:00 p.m. on June 19, 2010, Yan Hanlu, who was preparing to leave work, suddenly received a phone call telling him that he wanted to rescue an adult injured male elephant. Without saying a word, he immediately packed up some necessary tools and drugs for rescue and hurriedly boarded the rescue vehicle sent by the forest public security. The rescue operation of wild elephant "Kun VI" lasted three days, in which it took nearly 20 hours to drive "Kun VI" from the injured place to the roadside that can be opened to traffic. Because "Kun six" is in estrus, his temper is very irritable, and his physical injury is even more difficult to control. Yan Hanlu and his team members skillfully avoided several times when they wanted to turn around and attack the rescue team members. Finally, with the joint efforts of Yan Hanlu and the rescue team, kunliu was sent to the Asian elephant provenance breeding and rescue center in Xishuangbanna for follow-up treatment. In the Spring Festival of 2013, wild elephants in wild elephant valley haunted frequently. From the first day of the new year to the end of the holiday, elephant herds moved in the scenic spot every day. On the third day of the lunar new year, a group of wild elephants were very manic and unstable. At that time, two or three hundred tourists were passing near the corridor. At this time, a group of wild elephants suddenly rushed towards the crowd. The situation was very critical. Yanhanlu is only five meters away from the elephants. In order to protect the safety of tourists, yanhanlu and his team members led the elephants away regardless of their lives. At the same time, they quickly evacuated the tourists to the viaduct, avoiding a major accident. There are countless dangers like this, but yanhanlu works tirelessly and performs his duties. Over the past few years, he has participated in the major rescue operation of the injured Asian elephant in the wild on October 1, 2007, the rescue operation of the wild elephant valley on February 18, 2012, the rescue operation of the abandoned elephant "Xiaoqiang" in July 2015 and the rescue operation of the baby elephant "Yangniu" in August 2015. "As a Communist Party member, it is a simple wish to stick to dedication" In 2020, the covid-19 outbreak of new crown pneumonia interrupted the pace of tourists heading for the wild elephant valley. But with the return of Asian elephants, the task of protecting Asian elephants was heavier. Go out early and return late every day, always stick to their posts, and carefully observe the presence and absence of wild elephants around the scenic spot. From the South Gate of the scenic spot to the north gate of the scenic spot, and then to the observatory, yanhanlu recorded in detail the situation of each wild Asian elephant family, retained the individual information of each Asian elephant, and left his footsteps in every place that can be safely monitored, only to provide a powerful information basis for Asian elephant research. As the only Asian elephant observation and protection group in China, for more than 20 years, the daily work of him and his team members is to follow the activities of wild Asian elephants and make all kinds of safety early warning and data observation in the 1.5 million mu virgin forest of Mengyang Nature Reserve in Xishuangbanna. Their daily hiking mileage is almost more than 10 kilometers.
