On January 13, State Councilor and foreign minister Wang Yi held a telephone meeting with UAE Minister of foreign affairs and international cooperation Abdullah. Last year, the volume of bilateral trade between the two countries increased sharply against the trend. Abdullah said that Algeria supports China in hosting the Beijing Winter Olympics, is full of expectations for attending the opening ceremony, and wishes the Winter Olympics a complete success. Wang Yi expressed that China welcomes Afghan leaders to attend the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympic Games and is willing to take this opportunity to push bilateral relations to a new level and achieve new results in cooperation in various fields.
