The Chinese YMCA and YWCA help the development of ethnic minority areas
2021-12-16
The Chengdu YMCA and the YWCA launched the project of "walking with fellow villagers and revitalizing the countryside". *** We will improve the rule of law in the governance of religious affairs, strive to create a new situation in religious work, and better organize and guide religious believers to work with the broad masses of the people to unite and strive for building a modern socialist power in an all-round way and realizing the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. In recent years, on the way to common prosperity hand in hand, the YMCA, the National Association of young women's associations and local YMCA and young women's associations have adhered to the community concept of sharing weal and woe, weal and woe, life and death, and destiny, and adhered to the implementation of the awareness of building a strong Chinese national community in action in Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan, Xinjiang, Tibet and other places, We will carry out services in many fields, such as donations, health care, caring students, helping the disabled and caring for the elderly, tourism industry, children's education, vocational training, environmental protection and so on. ■ innovate ideas and help common prosperity In combination with their own advantages, many local YMCAs and young women's associations carry out diversified service projects to help compatriots of all ethnic groups get rid of poverty and become rich. In 2004, Guangzhou YMCA launched the "heifer" poverty alleviation project for farmers in Liannan Yao Autonomous County, Guangdong Province; In 2016, Chengdu YMCA and YWCA launched the "targeted poverty alleviation support project" in Zhitai village to lead the villagers to develop home stay tourism; This year, the Shanghai YMCA and YWCA launched the project of "making tea farmers busy and rich" in Yun County, Lincang City, Yunnan Province. China's Pu'er tea looks at Yunnan. Yunnan Pu'er tea is in Lincang. There are more than 20 ethnic groups in Yun County under the jurisdiction of Lincang City, including Han, Yi, Bai, Dai, Lahu, Bulang, Hui, Lisu and Miao. Most of them take growing, picking and making tea as their main source of income. Although the market of Pu'er tea has been rising in recent years, the income growth rate of many local tea farmers in Yunnan, including Yun County, has not changed significantly. Ah Hua is a Lahu guy who went out of Yun county. After graduating from Pu'er tea major in the College of agriculture of Yunnan University, ah Hua gave up employment opportunities in big cities and took the initiative to return to his hometown. He was determined to use his knowledge to do something for poverty alleviation and Rural Revitalization in his hometown. He borrowed money from the bank, contracted Chashan to establish a Pu'er tea production base, and set up a Pu'er tea marketing platform in Kunming. He used his meager strength to buy some simple tea making equipment for tea farmers, help tea farmers improve traditional tea making technology and help tea farmers achieve income growth. Later, Ahua hoped to establish a Pu'er tea training school to provide rural tea farmers with a series of training from tea making concept to tea making technology and tea culture dissemination, so as to make tea farmers who have just got rid of poverty busy and rich, and embark on a Rural Revitalization path of "making tea in spring and autumn, collecting honey and fungi in summer and winter, and rich amateur culture". However, it is difficult to achieve by relying solely on individual strength. After learning about ah Hua's story, Shanghai YMCA and YWCA took the initiative to get in touch with him to discuss cooperation and services. The project of "making tea farmers busy and rich" came into being and was officially launched in October this year. The project focuses on the training, equipment support and concept improvement of tea farmers, striving to comprehensively improve the local tea production and processing level, effectively change the ideas of tea farmers, increase the actual income, help the Rural Revitalization and the dissemination of characteristic national culture, and create more employment opportunities for college students. ■ "teach people to fish" and carry out targeted services Sandu Shui Autonomous County is located in Qiannan Buyei and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province. It is located in the hinterland of moon mountain and Leigong Mountain. It has beautiful scenery and is known as "a place as beautiful as phoenix feathers". However, it was once one of the deeply poor counties in Guizhou Province. In response to the decision of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council to win the battle against poverty, since 2015, the Chinese YMCA National Association of young women's associations (hereinafter referred to as "National Association") )Actively participate in the poverty alleviation project of Guizhou Sandu Shui Autonomous County corresponding to the State Administration of religious affairs. According to the survey of the National Association, in Sandu county and Qiannan Prefecture, although the government has set up relatively perfect elderly care service facilities with a lot of funds from the limited financial budget, due to the lack of talents in the elderly care service industry and the relatively low level of elderly care service, the elderly care service only stays in the state of feeding and heating the elderly and meeting the basic needs of the elderly. The National Association hopes to rely on the advanced ideas and technical resources in the eastern coastal areas to help Sandu improve the quality of life of the local elderly and let young people increase their income and get rich by providing professional elderly care services. To this end, the National Association has actively carried out actions, gathered the strength of YMCA and YWCA in various cities, gave full play to the strengths and advantages of the group, and carried out targeted services in the field of professional training of elderly care services in the way of "teaching people to fish". From 2016 to 2018, the national vocational qualification training course for elderly care nurses in Sandu Shui Autonomous County, Guizhou Province, sponsored by the National Association and Sandu County People's government and hosted by Hangzhou young women's Christian Association, was held for three times. More than 70 participants from Shui, Tujia, Buyi, Yao, Dong and other nationalities from Sandu county participated in the training. There are both theoretical knowledge learning and practical operation training. The course content is rich and the curriculum is comprehensive. The lecturers are industry experts with rich teaching experience, which makes the students broaden their horizons and enhance their understanding and confidence in the cause of elderly care services. After the training, all participants obtained the "primary vocational qualification certificate for elderly care nurses" issued by the Ministry of human resources and social security and commonly used in China. Moreover, in order to enable the students to apply what they have learned and realize "one person works and the whole family gets rid of poverty", Hangzhou YMCA and YWCA actively assist the students to carry out Elderly Care Service internship in Hangzhou and help them solve employment problems. Many participants said, "the biggest gain from participating in the training is the change of concept and thinking. We should play a leading role, go back to our hometown to promote application, help and teach knowledge, so that more people can learn professional nursing skills." Based on the training of elderly care nurses, the National Association expanded the breadth, strength and depth of services. In 2017, Shanghai YMCA and YWCA were entrusted to hold a 37 day training course on the management of elderly care institutions in Qiannan Buyei and Miao Autonomous Prefecture of Guizhou Province in Shanghai. In order to improve the gold content of the training course, the Shanghai Youth Association and the women's youth association actively seek the Institute of population studies of Fudan University as partners, and jointly issue certificates to the students in the name of Shanghai Huaai further education school and Shanghai Pudong Fudan Social Development Research Association. Under the arrangement of the Shanghai Youth Association and the women's Youth Association, ABI, the head nurse of the people's Hospital of Sandu Shui Autonomous County in Guizhou, had the opportunity to practice and study in several nursing homes in Shanghai. She was impressed by a 79 year old grandfather song who was aphasia and semi disabled in his left leg in Luoshan nursing home. At that time, grandparents were doing activities and playing games in the training room. Grandpa song sat alone. ABI found his loneliness. In the following days, ABI followed him up as a case, went to Grandpa song every day, washed his face and trimmed his nails, and encouraged grandpa song to participate in activities. Gradually, Grandpa song was willing to communicate with ABI and would take the initiative to find ABI to play games. At the end of the internship, Grandpa song kept holding ABI's hand in the training room with tears in his eyes. ABI knows that accompanying, encouraging and understanding are not ordinary nursing work. Her heart was filled with emotion and she was determined to engage in the cause of elderly nursing. After returning home from training in Shanghai, ABI provided effective and considerate care for many elderly people, making them love life more. Through these years of practice, ABI has become more aware that the elderly need not only simple survival, but also decent living, responsive needs, reflected values and equal respect and love. ABI said that she will continue her efforts to make her own contribution to the development of elderly care in her hometown. It is gratifying that after several training courses, its influence continues to appear. Sandu county government began to formulate a five-year plan for the development of elderly care in Sandu County, filling the gap in relevant contents in the previous plan. Sandu county middle school has added professional classes for elderly care, and various elderly care institutions are also planned to open one after another. Moreover, the Sandu county government also put forward long-term plans for tourism and cultural pension in combination with local characteristics and focusing on the beautiful Sandu and ethnic customs. ■ planting trees in the desert to control desertification, environmental protection and poverty alleviation, killing two birds with one stone In recent years, the National Association has actively implemented the party's ethnic policy in its work, guided the YMCA and YWCA in various cities to carry out various forms and sustainable projects to serve ethnic areas, and used its own experience and ideas to bring modern life ideas and colorful lifestyles to the people of all ethnic groups. The National Association also makes use of its advantages in technology, talents, funds and resources to help people in ethnic minority areas improve their production and living conditions, constantly explore and innovate work ideas, strive to achieve the goal of "hematopoietic poverty alleviation" and join hands on the road of common prosperity. Naren Nur Lake (also known as "Sun Lake") )Located in the vast Tengger Desert of Alxa Left Banner in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, it was once surrounded by lush trees and trickling lakes. In the distance, cattle, horses and sheep can be seen eating grass leisurely. Within 20 kilometers around the sun lake, there were many desert Mingshui lakes, which were not only a good place for tourists, but also a natural pasture for local herdsmen. However, due to the chain reaction caused by land desertification, the water level of Taiyang lake has decreased year after year, and the water quality has become bitter and poor, affecting the normal production and life of herdsmen. Nastu is a herdsman who has lived there for generations. In order to find water and grassland and avoid dust storms, he often needs to drive the grazing cattle and sheep farther away. The living burden is increased and he often can't make ends meet. In order to improve the quality of life, nastu led the young people in the village to live frugally and use the saved money to buy Haloxylon ammodendron seedlings. Haloxylon ammodendron is a sand fixing plant growing on sandy land. It has strong salt and alkali tolerance, light preference, developed roots and strong wind and sand fixation ability. It is the preferred tree species for sand fixation and afforestation. However, due to weak strength, little effect has been achieved. Shanghai YMCA and YWCA were deeply moved by their understanding of nastu's story. They took the initiative to get in touch with the local community, mobilize social forces, raise love funds, and launched the "defend the sun Lake" project in 2016. Its contents include hiring herdsmen to plant Haloxylon ammodendron and other green plants suitable for desert growth, building sand fixation and environmental protection forests along the lake, and transporting volunteers to the local public welfare services. Its purpose is not only to solve ecological problems, but also to solve the problem of herdsmen getting rid of poverty and getting rich, realize ecological beauty, make people rich, make the sky bluer and water clearer, and call on more people to join the ranks of environmental protection.
