On the eve of donation, at Dandong glory hospital, 97 year old sun Jingkun sat in a wheelchair and stroked a medal hanging on an old military uniform. My honor comes from the cultivation and love of the party and the people, and should be returned to the party and the people. These things are here for me, only I can see. Donating them can let more people understand that history and cherish today's happy life." Sun Jingkun's eldest son, sun Fugui, knew how determined his father was to donate, and how reluctant he was. He said: "these medals are regarded as treasures by his father and kept carefully. He should take them with him wherever he goes these years. Even if he is ill and hospitalized, this military uniform with medals is also placed beside the hospital bed, and he can see it as soon as he raises his eyes." This old military uniform is full of heroic achievements and shines with the glory of soldiers. Sun Jingkun attached great importance to the medal and took fame and wealth lightly. In 1955, after his demobilization, sun Jingkun took the initiative to give up the opportunity to work in the city, transferred his organizational relationship to the Party branch of Shancheng village, Jinshan Town, Dandong City, and said nothing about his military achievements. His various badges were kept by his mother and wrapped in a towel with the words "give to the most lovely person". He agreed with his mother that no one should mention meritorious service and award. By chance, the hero's story spread. It was in the late 1960s that Zhang Desheng, a fellow villager, found sun Jingkun's heroic deeds of killing the enemy on the battlefield in his book fighting in Korea, which was only spread ten or ten to a hundred. "Only then did we know dad's experience on the battlefield. When so many comrades in arms fell in front of him, it was eternal pain in his heart." Sun Jingkun's daughter sun Meili said. Sun Meili recalled: "I went to school at the age of 8. My family couldn't even take out the tuition of 4 yuan. As long as he took out those military medals, the government would take care of my family, but my father didn't do that."
