The Ministry of Veterans Affairs recently announced the newly revised Measures for the administration of services for retired military cadres (hereinafter referred to as the measures). Retired military cadres transferred to the government for resettlement (hereinafter referred to as retired military cadres) have made important contributions to national independence and liberation and the modernization of the country and the army. The measures implement the law of the people's Republic of China on the security of retired servicemen and relevant national regulations, actively link up with policies such as the social security system, the medical and health system and the reform of elderly care services, fully absorb the useful experience of various localities, and comprehensively standardize and improve the management of military retirement services. It is mainly reflected in the following four aspects: From the party's leadership, it is clear that the management of military retirement service "adheres to the party's leadership, is in charge of the Department of Veterans Affairs, and the military retirement service management organization organizes and implements it"; It is proposed to improve and innovate the party organization work of retired military cadres and enhance the political function and organizational power of the party organization of the military service management organization. In terms of institutional construction, it is stipulated that the military retired service management organization should strengthen infrastructure construction, carry out aging transformation according to local conditions, strengthen file management and safety management, establish a service management supervision and evaluation system with the satisfaction of military retired cadres as the main content, and strengthen the ability, quality, style and discipline of staff. As an important regulation of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, the measures are the basic guidelines for guiding the management of military retirement services at present and in the future, and will come into force as of January 1, 2022.
