I remember in mid-2003, it was actually master Xingyun's intention that the Chinese Academy of art invited the Buddhist Chant praise group of Foguang mountain to visit Beijing for performance. Due to historical reasons at that time, the approval procedures were not complete until a few days before the performance. Due to the shortage of time, there will undoubtedly be more difficulties in the travel of the troupe's personnel, performance preparation and specific arrangements. But the relevant departments of Foguang mountain said no more The difficulties can also be overcome. After repeated efforts, the relevant departments of the Chinese Academy of art finally approved the performance a few days before the performance. The Buddhist Chant praise group of Foguang mountain, together with mainland religious groups, prepared in the shortest time, and the performance in Zhongshan Park concert hall was a complete success. Master Xingyun talked about the performance in an exclusive interview with the global times on November 3, 2015. He said: "in the past, the so-called cross-strait communication did not pass, Buddhism passed first." At the beginning of the preface, I wrote these words: "a few years ago, at the invitation of master Xingyun, I had a dinner with scholars in culture, art, philosophy and education at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse. During the dinner, master Xingyun talked about the same root and homology of cross-strait culture and the feeling of homesickness in a dream. His gloomy and sincere voice and appearance are unforgettable." Later, I met or had dinner with the master several times. I often heard him talk about the connection between the roots of cross-strait culture and the need for cross-strait cultural exchanges to build a spiritual bridge. That sincere and moving scene often came to my mind.
