The restoration was started in 2019 with an investment of 3 million yuan. Founded in the 16th century, Xiami courtyard is the highest esoteric Temple of Gelu sect. The murals repaired by the project cover a large area of more than 330 square meters, mainly including falling off, nail rising, empty drum, etc. At present, the two murals have been repaired. "Jokhang Temple is a world cultural heritage, located in the densely populated ancient city of bakuo, so the fire safety awareness must be improved." he said that in March 2020, the fire protection project of Jokhang Temple began to be implemented at a cost of 26 million yuan.
