Writing is not a simple copy of life

In many interviews, I have talked about a point of view: writing is not a simple copy of life, but a re discovery, re examination and re interpretation of life. In other words, if we stop at describing the external representation of life, such writing, even if hundreds of millions of words, has no substantive value. The writer is only playing the role of a camera when he refers to what ordinary people can see, hear and think. Whether we can deeply excavate and realistically present the inner flesh of life, the hidden texture and the overflow part outside the public view, that is, the part that the common eye can't see and the common heart can't understand, so as to arouse the resonance of readers and trigger readers' thinking, is the real test of the writer's real tolerance. With all due respect, the current literature seems to be green and boundless, but it can't stand measurement and weighing. Once it is more serious, it is found that its tendency of shrubbery is very serious, and there are few admirable arbor tyrants standing tall. It is obviously a great misunderstanding of literature to think that the degree of smoothness of words and sentences in an article is a literary work. The door of writing is open. Anyone can come in and flirt. However, as far as the difficulty of writing is concerned, it is like an acrobatic performance that is definitely difficult to complete without long-term hard training, and an unusual person can be competent. The reason is that writing involves not only the expressiveness of language, but also the embodiment of comprehensive quality, including whether cognition is transparent, whether learning is thick, whether experience is rich, whether personality is noble, whether innovation ability is possessed, whether words and sentences are honed in place, etc. However, today's reality is not optimistic. Too many writers and editors who do not know what literature is pour in and participate in large quantities with the rise of the Internet, which makes the current Chinese literature more and more close to the level of junior high school students' composition with the noise and roaring of square dance. It is impossible to rediscover, re-examine and re interpret life without considerable reading and thinking. Reading is not limited to the field of literature, but we should broaden our horizons and have an ever-growing curiosity about all disciplines, including sociology, economics, history, geography, military science, astronomy, zoology, botany, religion, aesthetics and other classic works. Any subject is related to writing. Knowing more can not only expand one's spiritual space and thinking pattern, but also avoid common sense fallacies in writing; Reading is not to take a book without selection, but to find the most reliable and classic text. Just as famous writers are not necessarily great writers, popular books are not necessarily classics. Classics must be works that have been severely tortured and screened by the judge over time and have not been eliminated for hundreds of years and thousands of years. Only by reading all the masterpieces cultivated and nourished by various civilizations can we find out how big the world is and how high the highest mountain in the world is. Only then can we wake up to the gap between the small mound we stick to and the real peak, and then we can understand how long we need to climb. Life repeats day by day, and not many new things happen. Just like ingredients, they are always the same kinds. However, as long as the cook is skilled enough and good at thinking, old ingredients can also cook new dishes and tastes. In other words, what is new is not life itself, but the writer's unique discovery and unique expression. Following the footsteps of others and following the popular writers, the completion of his life is at best just the shadow of others. Only by keeping enough vigilance, even avoiding and staying away from all the so-called successful people, can we calm down and build a unique literary tribe. Rediscovery is not to let secular ideas lead their nose, so as to fall into its trap and become its captive. The mind is on its own shoulders. It does not take secular prejudice as its own opinion, nor does it speak for itself with the coax of the public. For example, a murderer can be judged as a criminal by the judge, and the public can call him a bad guy, but the writer can't stay at this level and just scold him. What a writer should do is to find out what happened to him. What kind of growth background and growth process turn a former angel into a demon tonight? This person who goes astray is like a crooked tree, bathed in sunshine and rain, and has experienced wind and rain. He hides a lot of rich information about soil, climate, society, family, concept, human nature and so on. Only by deeply digging and combing them one by one, can society return to society, family return to family, education return to education, and human nature return to humanity. As far as I'm concerned, I don't allow myself to be mediocre. Although I am born mediocre, I am trying to overcome mediocrity and resist mediocrity. I regard mediocrity as a great taboo in writing. What others praise may be what I despise; What others despise may be what I sympathize with; Other people's vision, perhaps I deliberately avoided; Other people's conclusions may be what I want to overturn... From structure to rhetoric to words and sentences, I strive to neither repeat others nor myself, so that every sentence is at least less cliche, and every word can be like a newly born baby.
