Shanghai disease control: do not directly spray disinfectants on people or pets

2022-05-24

At 10:00 a.m. on May 23, the Information Office of the Shanghai municipal government organized the 192nd press conference on the prevention and control of COVID-19 in Shanghai. Zhao Dandan, deputy director of the Municipal Health Commission, Lin Jingjun, deputy head of Huangpu District, Lin Weibin, deputy director of the Municipal Housing Administration, Zhu Junwei, deputy director of the municipal big data center, and Tian Liang, chief physician of the disinfection and infection control department of the infectious disease prevention and Control Institute of the Municipal Center for Disease Control and prevention, attended the meeting to introduce the relevant situation and answer questions from reporters. Yin Xin, spokesman of the municipal government, presided over the press conference. A reporter asked that in the past two days, it was reported on the Internet that there were people discharged from the cabin and medical staff were sprayed with disinfectant when they returned to the community. How to do scientific disinfection and how to disinfect after going out and going home? Tian Liang introduced that disinfection is an important means to block the spread of pathogenic microorganisms and has played an important role in epidemic prevention and control. However, we should also know that disinfectant is also a double-edged sword. On the one hand, it can eliminate pathogens. On the other hand, excessive or inappropriate use will also cause human and material damage and environmental damage. Therefore, we advocate scientific disinfection and accurate implementation. In daily life, we should avoid some misunderstandings: First, do not directly use disinfectant to spray and disinfect personnel or pets. The direct action of disinfectant on human body or pets may cause mucous membrane irritation such as eyes, mouth and nose, inhalation pneumonia, skin inflammation, allergic reaction, etc. in addition, it is difficult to ensure the use amount and action time of disinfectant for one-time spraying disinfection, so it is impossible to achieve effective disinfection. Second, do not carry out large-scale disinfection of the outdoor environment. The viral load and survival time on the surface of objects in the external environment are limited, and excessive disinfection will pollute the environment. Therefore, in general, there is no need to carry out large-scale disinfection of the external environment such as green belts, roads and rivers. Third, do not arbitrarily use chemical disinfectants for preventive disinfection of food. We can carry out preventive disinfection on the outer packaging of purchased food. For the food itself, it is not recommended to use chemical disinfectants to disinfect, so as not to affect food safety and taste. If the pollution risk is high and disinfection is really needed, fruit and vegetable disinfectant can be used to disinfect according to the operation manual, and then rinse with clean water to remove the residue. Fourth, do not use alcohol to spray and disinfect in a large area. Alcohol is flammable and explosive. Spraying alcohol in a large area is easy to cause danger. Generally, we can wipe and disinfect small items with alcohol. Fifth, do not use humidifier or watering can for air disinfection. When using humidifier and watering can to spray disinfectant, usually the droplet particles ejected are large and the suspension time in the air is short, which can not achieve the purpose of air disinfection. The preventive disinfection of indoor air in residents' homes is still advocated to be carried out by opening windows for ventilation or supplemented by mechanical ventilation. Sixth, do not pour disinfectant or put disinfectant tablets into the water channel. As long as the air flow in the sewer between the neighbors of residential buildings is not connected, the risk of virus transmission through the sewer is very low. Therefore, do not pour a large amount of disinfectant and disinfectant tablets down the waterway to avoid corroding the pipeline and polluting the environment. Tian Liang said that when you go out and go home, you should first do a good job of hand hygiene. Fully rub and wash your hands with flowing water, hand sanitizer or soap. When you are not sure whether your hands are clean, avoid touching your mouth, eyes, nose and other parts with your hands. Coats and clothes can be hung in a ventilated place when they go home. Mobile phones, keys and other personal items shall be wiped and disinfected with alcohol cotton balls or disinfectant wipes. Unless there is clear pollution, there is no need to disinfect the sole every day. Just change shoes at the door of your home. (outlook new era)
