The person in charge of the E-commerce Department of the Ministry of Commerce introduced on the 28th that e-commerce continued to develop healthily in the first three quarters, actively promoting stable growth in consumption, driving digital transformation of industries, accelerating the research and application of new technologies, and deepening international economic and trade cooperation. Data shows that in the first three quarters, the national online retail sales reached 10.9 trillion yuan, an increase of 8.6%. The online retail sales of physical goods reached 9.1 trillion yuan, an increase of 7.9%. The person in charge introduced that the implementation of the digital consumption improvement action has shown remarkable results, and the growth rate of network service consumption is relatively fast, with the exchange of old for new becoming a new growth point. According to business big data monitoring, digital products such as AI learning machines and mobile phones grew by 127.9% and 15.4%, while online travel and online catering drove a 19.2% increase in network service consumption. In September, home appliances such as range hoods, assembled computers, and air conditioners grew by 157.6%, 91.8%, and 17.9%, respectively. The person in charge said that the e-commerce field has abundant data resources and a wide range of application scenarios, making it one of the most active and widely used areas for the application of artificial intelligence technology. The main platform actively develops its own large-scale models, expanding its application areas from improving consumer experience and reducing costs and increasing efficiency on the supply side to detecting product quality. Virtual fitting, intelligent search, and other technologies enhance the consumer experience, while AI marketing systems, digital human multilingual live streaming, and other technologies improve merchant operational efficiency.
