Fangchenggang, Guangxi: Thousands of acres of oyster rows enjoy a bountiful harvest of oyster seedlings. Guangpo Town in Fangchenggang, Guangxi is one of the main oyster breeding bases along the coast of Guangxi. Currently, the local area has entered the season of oyster seedling harvest. The reporter came to the oyster row of Hongsha Wan Mu Oyster Row Breeding Base in Fangchenggang City. This is one of the most important oyster breeding bases along the coast of Guangxi, with 13400 acres of oyster rows scattered all over the sea. This base mainly produces large-sized finished oysters. Oyster seedlings are released from May to June every year and can be harvested in November of the following year. Currently, these large oysters are still in their growth stage. Local farmers also told reporters that these oysters are specially raised oyster seedlings, so every year at this time, a large number of merchants from other places come to purchase oyster seedlings. Unlike mature oyster transportation methods, these merchants purchase oysters by sea, which greatly reduces transportation costs. Through the underwater camera, it can be seen that the oyster seedlings are fixed on the cement stone cakes when they are lowered, with about 40 cakes per string. Farmers say that this hanging method not only allows oysters to grow well, but also facilitates fishing. A 1.6 acre oyster row can hold approximately 12000 strings of oyster seedlings, and the annual production of oyster seedlings in the entire base reaches 134500 tons. Cixi, Zhejiang: It's harvest season again, rowing boats to pick red water chestnuts and then going to Cixi, Zhejiang to see the busy scene of red water chestnut harvesting and listing. At the Hongling planting base in Shengshan Town, Ling farmers sit in oval shaped Ling buckets, skillfully flipping through green leaves, searching for and picking mature Hongling. After harvesting, the red water chestnuts are washed, packaged, and sold in batches to various parts of the country. The reporter learned that due to the large, thin skin, fresh, tender, and delicious taste of the local red diamond, it is quite popular among consumers. The cultivation of Hongling in Shengshan, Cixi has a history of over 200 years, with a local planting area of 1056 acres. According to preliminary estimates, this year's production will reach around 500 tons, with an output value of nearly 8 million yuan, and the per capita income of farmers will increase by nearly 15% year-on-year.
