The head of the China National Intellectual Property Administration introduced the overall situation of reform and development in the field of intellectual property. As of June this year, the effective number of invention patents in China has reached 4.425 million, and the proportion of invention patents owned by enterprises has increased to 72.8%. Enterprise innovation has become more active. China has deeply implemented the special action of patent transformation and application. In the first half of this year, the number of patent transfers and licenses for universities and research institutions nationwide increased by 22.2% year-on-year, and a number of high-value patents have accelerated their landing in high-end, intelligent, and green industrial scenarios. From January to May this year, the total import and export volume of intellectual property usage fees reached 180 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 14.1%. The level of intellectual property services in China has been comprehensively improved to facilitate the people and benefit enterprises. The average examination period for invention patents has been reduced to 15.7 months, and the average examination period for trademark registration has remained stable at 4 months, both reaching the international advanced level under the same examination system. International cooperation in intellectual property rights in our country contributes to high-level opening up to the outside world. As of June this year, the number of valid invention patents and registered trademarks from foreign countries in China has reached 919000 and 2.135 million respectively, maintaining stable growth.
