On June 25th, as the 37th International Anti Drug Day approaches, Shamian Street in Liwan District, Guangzhou carried out the 2024 "June 26th" International Anti Drug Day with the theme of "Refusing Drug Abuse and Safeguarding Innocent Youth" and the rule of law promotion campaign for Shamian safety construction. The Shamian Xigu Battery is located on the southern embankment of Shamian. During the First Opium War, the Qing government resisted the invasion of the British fleet here. The Shamian Xigu Battery has witnessed the bravery and determination of the Chinese nation in resisting foreign enemies and defending our homeland. The location of the Anti Drug Day event here highlights its important significance. The initiative of "preventing drugs from entering my home and building a safe and happy home together" echoed at the event site, inspiring every citizen. On the day of the event, the Women's Federation of Shamian Street issued an initiative, calling on families to inherit good family traditions and teachings, strengthen drug prevention education for underage children, and establish a healthy life, green and non-toxic lifestyle concept. The event held an appointment ceremony for the "Sha Mian Anti Drug Propaganda Officer". At the appointment ceremony, a group of outstanding citizens were officially appointed as "Sha Mian Anti Drug Propagandists", including community workers, party member volunteers, enterprise representatives, delivery guys, security guards, and representatives of young students. These promoters will go deep into communities, schools, enterprises, and other areas to carry out anti drug propaganda, contributing to improving the anti drug awareness of citizens. It is reported that in order to fully promote the creation of anti drug demonstration work, Shamian Street has innovated anti drug propaganda forms, and through diversified propaganda service models such as "scenic spots+anti drug", "culture+anti drug", "game+anti drug", and "volunteer+anti drug", the anti drug propaganda has deeply penetrated people's hearts. Shamian Street has established a close anti drug propaganda alliance with units and social organizations within its jurisdiction, jointly creating a three in one anti drug propaganda and education base consisting of "Anti Drug Setting Sail Social Work Station, Shamian Xigu Battery Anti Drug Park, and Shamian Anti Drug Corner". This cross-border cooperation model not only integrates resources from all parties, but also achieves the normalization and full coverage of anti drug propaganda. In this alliance, the Guangdong branch of the General Administration of Customs has played an important role. With the theme of Shamian West Bridge, they have carefully created a West Bridge legal publicity platform. Through a series of legal education activities, they have effectively improved the legal awareness and anti drug awareness of citizens. In addition, the Shamian "Double Hundred" social work station and Shamian volunteer station will also tailor a series of popular anti drug activities for the youth group. These activities aim to guide teenagers to establish correct values and lifestyles, and consciously resist the temptation of drugs. The event also invited a lecturer from the Guangzhou Anti Drug Education Museum to explain to the audience the hazards of new drugs and relevant national laws and regulations, so that they can understand the harm of drugs to individuals, families, and society, and enhance their awareness and ability to resist drug abuse.
